Teenagers between the ages of 12-18 are in the most crucial life-defining period of growing up. Our leadership team is devoted to one thing when it comes to Youth in our church and that is Discipleship. We want to see those who are near and far come closer to Jesus. We believe that we have been called to ‘Foster Friendships and build Faith’ to accomplish this goal.
Please contact me whether you are a parent or a teen for more information. I look forward to serving you. Pastor Reuben Deodhar: email@example.com
Grade 6-8 - Middle School Ministries (every Friday, 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.)
Our hope is to create an exciting and fun place for pre-teens to enjoy themselves, make friends in the church, and awaken their hearts and minds to God, who He is and what He is calling them to. We achieve this through weekly gatherings, an overnight retreat called Bedlam, social events and service projects to help build faith and lead teens to Christ.
Bedlam - A Middle School Retreat at Joy Bible camp (January 26-28, 2018) Dinner provided.
Bedlam is a great time for middle school teenagers to to make friends and connect with God in a deep and personal way. We will have a great speaker, worship, and tons of crazy fun games.
Grade 9-12 - High School Ministries (every Friday 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.) Dinner provided.
Our desire is to build deeper relationships with Teens as we lead them into "Living by Faith" and not by sight. We do this through weekly gatherings where we have dinner together, open God’s Word and worship God; wrestle with current topics relevant to High school teens. We have Socials and go on retreats in the Fall and Winter. We paricipate in service projects and have "Home Groups" where teens meet in smaller groups and build strong friendships.
Fall and winter retreat are great opportunities for high school students to grow deeper in faith and friendships with God and friends. Our emphasis is to get teens away from the distractions of the world and to point them back to Jesus in a relational way that our retreats offer.
We have Sunday School for Grades 7-8. The students are dismissed mid service to discover who Jesus is in a way that is age-relevant. For details email Theresa Catania: firstname.lastname@example.org
Bible Quizzing (Youth Centre)
Bible Quizzing is all about rallying our grades 7 to 12 students during the 11:00 a.m. service for the purpose of memorizing Scripture in a fun and interactive way in a spirit of friendly-competition. Our "Quizzers", as we call them, compete in three to four Quiz Meets each year, which is a great way to make friends with teammates and competitors from around the province of Ontario.
For details email Brian Holt at email@example.com for details.
Students love helping others. For that reason, from time to time, we plan community service projects which we carry out during our Friday Night Program.
Some examples of projects we have organized in past years include:
- Making and serving sandwiches to needy people in the GTA
- Helping seniors with gardening and snow removal
- Visiting Seniors and baking cookies for them
