Welcome to What's Op!

Welcome to the What’s Op' (Operations) Blog!

Welcome to the What's Op' blog! It’s a place to get news, updates, and other interesting information from what we call the “Operations” side of RAC.  What is “Operations”?  It’s a bunch of areas such as administration, facilities and finance that support all the ministries of the church.  We will be posting new entries to the What’s Op blog a couple of times a month including financial updates, facilities news or other information. In our inaugural What’s Op post we highlight the following:

2022-2023 OFFERINGS TARGET AND SEPTEMBER GIVING

Rexdale has a financial year (fiscal year) that runs from September 1 to August 31.  We recently completed our annual audit and the financial statements for the year ending August 31, 2022 will be coming out soon with the annual report.  We are already one month into the new 2022-2023 fiscal year.  Each year as part of the budgeting process, we set an annual goal for offerings in order to meet the church’s expenses.  For the 2023 fiscal year, the goal is $1,000,000.  To get to this goal, we are looking to receive offerings of $75,000 for each month except for December where the target is $175,000.  Eleven months at $75,000 and one month at $175,000 gets us to the goal of $1,000,000.  So far, the year is off to a bit of a slow start as only $58,000 was received in September.  If you are part of the RAC community and are passionate about helping achieve our mission of “Connecting Rexdale to Jesus and His Mission”, please consider how you can support us financially.

DOES THE PARSONAGE LOOK DIFFERENT?

If you passed by the parsonage recently, maybe something about it caught your eye?  If it looks a little different, that’s because the roof just got completely replaced last week.  Windstorms had torn a bunch of shingles off the roof in the last few months and it was time to do a complete overhaul before winter arrives.
